Money Mindset Coach was written by Betty Barnett, who used to suffer from insecurity. She had tried many different courses, yet was always drawn back to the same problem: how did I get my life back on track? When I finally decided to give this a try, I knew that there would be a learning curve. What I didn’t know was how steep it was!
I had signed up for a few programs, which never really got me any closer to financial freedom. Some of them only gave you a monthly payment for as long as you keep on paying them. Others are more intense, and they offer you step-by-step, guaranteed results. But in the end, what I learned from all of these programs was the same thing: If you want to make money now, you’re going to have to take action, and it’s going to take some effort.
But it doesn’t have to be hard! As a life coach myself, I’ve seen how some people can easily throw money around like toys. They think that they are so smart, that they don’t need to work for their money. But if you know how to earn it – like everyone else – then you can stop living from day to day, and start living from month to month. This is what Betty meant when she wrote, “Let go of your attachment to the past, set up your plan to live the present.”
So where does this leave us as people, who need to earn our own money? There are quite a few things that we can do to make money for ourselves. We don’t have to go straight for the millionaire’s row. We can start off with some of the basic skills, and build up our knowledge over time. As Betty says, “Learn the skill of money making, and you learn the language of life.”
It’s important to have some sort of plan. A plan to educate yourself on how to get from where you are right now to where you want to be. Life is teaching, not always expecting. So if you are going to be a successful coach – you need to be an interpreter of life.
By having a plan, you’ll also be in a much better position to change the behaviour of other people, because you’ll know exactly what to expect and how to get there. This applies to both your clients and your coach. For example, when I used to teach personal development, I had one client who would never take his money and run away with it! He had such faith in himself that he would rather lose his money than let someone else have it.
What made him change? It was his desire to have a financially secure future, like most people. But his ability to see the situation realistically and to see himself taking actions that would eventually achieve this goal was key. If you don’t know how to translate your goals into action… well, life will do that for you!
So back to the original question: Is a coach like Betty Barnett money mindset coach Ventura California really required? Well, if you know how to get to the point of seeing it realistically and in a way that you can actually follow through on, then I would say “yes”. If you don’t, then maybe it’s time to find someone who does. It’s the only way forward.
So what does a money mindset coach do? They are usually retired people with backgrounds in management and / or finance. They come into the picture with their own coaching certification, usually from a top school or business school, and they work with you one-on-one. You’ll be sharing some of your past experiences and they’ll help you to discover areas of your financial identity that you may not have been aware of.
For example, maybe you’ve been around retirement and you’re just not feeling quite prepared for it yet. Your coach may suggest some books, videos, etc. that can help you evolve and prepare for that much needed shift. At the same time, they’ll also point out areas of your finances that you may not be too thrilled about. Let’s say that you love traveling, but you hate being frugal. With a coach like this, you can learn to embrace the things that are important to you – but you’ll never forget the things that you’d rather be doing!
Finally, what will you get out of a Betty Barnett money mindset coach? First and foremost, you will get guidance and expertise from someone who has been there and done that. While there are lots of great ideas out there, many of them do not work for everyone. Through working with their clients, Betty Barnett coaches will help you to figure out what works for you, while laying out the options for you so that you can make informed decisions.
