While this is usually helpful, sometimes it does not include an explanation of how the therapy will help you recover or how it will affect your healthcare in general. Manual therapy may be used to help patients with a musculoskeletal problem, like shoulder pain, arthritis, or spinal compression, using various techniques and focusing on movement, posture, and flexibility to reduce pain and stiffness. Another advantage of using manual therapy is that it may help prevent further injuries or complications from occurring in the future.
Manual Therapy can also be used to help patients who have been injured and experience muscle weakness or spasms that make it difficult to walk or to stand. When muscle weakness or spasms interfere with daily activities, it can make it difficult to get through the day. There are four main types of manual therapy techniques we use at Massage Therapies. The second technique we use is to call ultrasound, and this technique involves using sound waves to target a damaged area. The last technique we use is called heat therapy; this technique involves placing a heating pad on a sore muscle, or cold compresses to reduce swelling, and encourage blood flow.
